Malt in Newport

My wife and I traveled to Newport Rhode Island for our very 1st wedding anniversary hoping to have great experiences and great food. We were not disappointed! Malt was our favorite restaurant in Newport! We split the fish tacos, the falafal wrap, chicken wings, and truffle fries. My wife said they were the best fries she ever had. Great food and great service!

Delicious and great service. Stopped in for a relaxing dinner to catch up with a friend and it was wonderful. They were very accommodating of my food allergies and we found several delicious options, including fish tacos (magical!), Brussels sprouts (good but not wow), and the cod over risotto (amazing!). Also, had a great selection of whiskey and other drinks. My friend got the caramel ice cream for dessert and said it was okay. I got the sorbet (raspberry didn't wow me but the lemon was divine). Service from Stephanie and Merrell was great and they really made sure we were well taken care of. Checked in frequently to make sure all was good. We'll be back!

Great food!

Excellent dinner, nice atmosphere, great service. The clam chowder is a legit chowder, huge chunks of veggies and tons of clam. The steak is excellent and the fish is very well prepared.

Love this place! The food was amazing the service was just as good. Great atmosphere. After dinner we sat at the bar and was entertained by the bartenders. Perfect place for food and or drinks. My new favorite spot in Newport

Excellent selection of single malt scotch and pleasant service.

The food here is outstanding. The calamari app had a unique lime crema sauce. The Bolognese was loaded with meat and the sauce was delicious. Fish and chips were generous and perfect. We loved the malt bomb dessert. The service was excellent. The prices were reasonable. We found this restaurant because of the outdoor seating. Wish we’d been there sooner.

Not bad for late night burger

Food and service was excellent, 5 star!!! Location is everything unfortunately and you could miss out on this gem, because of the outdoor seating situation currently.

So attentive to details! Wide range of draft beers and bottled ones plus for every beer they have own branded glass. Not to mention as a local burger tester: their Malt burger best in town(castle hill inn is #2).

We are locals and had our rehearsal dinner here! If we could give it 6 stars we would! The service was exceptional and we had the best time! Owners are amazing and the food is delicious! Beer selection is fantastic! We LOVE Malt! ☺️

The bar is really welcoming with a great beer and wine selection and good prices. The thai shrimp nachos app, and the duck breast entree are absurdly delicious!

I had the cod risotto which was pretty delicious. My friend had the ravioli and potato croquet, which she enjoyed. The chocolate bomb? (forgot the name) dessert was delicious!

Very Good food at reasonable prices!

Fabulous food and service. Eaten here a few times and food is consistently delicious. Scallops were succulent, tuna seared to perfection. Calamari which is lightly breaded was divine. Beet salad was excellent.

Pretty cool Gastro pub in Newport. Food was good and atmosphere was nice.

Came during Newport restaurant week and had a great meal. Delicious food, friendly staff. The cocktails were very good. I had the basil gimlet and it was a perfect drink! We will be back to try your other dishes and drinks.

Never disappointed! The Thai shrimp nacho appetizer is to die for and the malt burger is a must try. Great beer selection and I highly recommend the wild child Martini!

I learned what polenta was here and so glad I did. Great menu options, most dishes around $17-28 for late dinner from what I saw. Quick service, even though it was definitely packed!

Loved this place, the service was fantastic!!!! I was in the mood for some pasta and seafood and the waitress helped me to create my own Entree. I will never forget this! I had Linguini with salmon and asparagus and the food was amazing! What a great cook! 😊

We went here for my birthday while visiting Newport... we had the artisan cheese trio with charcuterie which was excellent. My fiance had pan roasted Cod Risotto which was so flavorful and delicious. I had the petite sirloin with roasted asparagus... melt in your mouth awesomeness. The waitstaff was very nice and the atmosphere on the dining side is quite nice. Their food menu is kind of limited but they have a very extensive beverage list if drinking is for you. Scotch is kind of their thing. I would highly recommend this place.

Fantastic! This place was so good, I'm still in the restaurant writing the review. Party of 12 they were able to accommodate us without a problem (we made a reservation a few days prior) but we got here, sat right down in the back and had an amazing dinner. All the food came out at once and it was all hot. The seafood was fresh the steaks were cooked perfectly! Went with Malt based on the reviews and they didn't disappoint, I would highly recommend it to everyone!

Was here a few years ago. The burger is amazing. Best burger I have ever had. So good I came back again to get the same meal. Beer selection was great and the staff were well versed in their draft selection.

We have been to some great places, but this is in the top 5! The restaurant, the bar, and the staff were excellent. The menu is varied enough that you will find something to love. The selection of alcoholic libations are fabulous. And the staff was as good as it gets. We would recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

Off the main drag of Newport... Great to go to get away from the crowds... Food and drinks are outstanding

Great experience. Had shrimp nachos which resulted in major diarrhea. Had to use the already gross bathroom, which I Indeed make much grosser. The shrimp nachos run through my jeans, just like my shrimp enhancing genetics.Jk this restaurants anazing. That's why I give it 5 stars!

We love it here. Food is amazing and so interesting! It's very cozy inside, perfect for NE winter's. We come here frequently and wouldn't change a thing.

Good service. Polite, attentive, and welcoming. Good drinks and food. Good job dealing with young children (a must for me). I definitely recommend.
